Decorating with your photos

You as a client, take great care in choosing a photographer for your family photos. Much research is done in comparing portfolios, photography style and pricing, an most of you are looking to purchase digital files.  These files give you the freedom to print your photos in as many sizes as you would like.  I love to use my personal family photos in my home as decor.

Staircase

My staircase walls were a huge struggle for me.  The high ceilings were throwing me off, along with the molding going up the staircase.  I knew I needed large photos but i just wasn’t sure how to arrange them.  After doing a little playing around I decided that it would be ok if the ones on the bottom hung over the molding a little….and this is what I ended up with.

The three framed photos  are 22×28 frames from Hobby Lobby.  Always wait on a frames sale and you can get them for 40%!  I also had Hobby Lobby cut some white mats to go in the frames for me.  These were a little more expensive but I love the contrast of the white on the b/w prints.  The prints are a 20×24 from my professional printing company White House Custom Color.  I added a little bit of interest by adding a gallery wrapped canvas to break up the heaviness of the black frames.  This canvas is a 20×30 size and is from Pixel 2 Canvas.  They also run great sales on their canvases about once a month.  The hard part now was actually hanging the prints on the wall.  My husband helped hold the large ladder as I nailed and measured.

I’m so happy with how this photo wall turned out!  I think that the photos are the exact right size for the wall and I love the b/w contrast with the white wall?  Questions about anything I did?  Send me an email (emily@emilycrumpphotography.com) or ask below in the comments section!

Wall Art

I also did the al most exact same thing in my living room above the TV cabinet.  Frames are 22×28 from Hobby Lobby with white mats they also cut for me.  I then, took some photos from my great-grandparents farm house in Ohio and framed them up.  As you can see, I have a thing for b/w photos!  I love how these turned out as well!  In other room decor, the Angel canvas in from DeAnn Art. I love navy blue and when i saw she had a navy blue angel I knew I had to have it!  The gold mirror was an amazing find at a local antique store and the TV cabinet is from Pottery Barn.
